Why I Bought It
A few months before I purchased my Acer monitor, I bought a new laptop. At 15 inches, the laptop’s display felt too small for the variety of online tasks that I performed daily. I had always wanted an additional monitor for my job, so I felt it was time to invest in one.
Initially, I wanted a 25-inch monitor for no real reason other than I wanted something big. However, I had to consider the available space on my desk. So I decided to go with a monitor between 20 and 22 inches.
What I was looking for:
- 20-22 inches in size
- Full HD resolution
- Blue light filtering
- HDMI connection

Let Me Tell You About It
I was able to set up my new monitor within a matter of minutes. I had to rearrange items on my desk to make room for it, but it fit in perfectly right in the center with my laptop sitting to the left.
Initially, I imagined that I would use the monitor in a dual-screen mode along with my laptop. However, I preferred using the monitor alone for most of my tasks. So my laptop serves mostly as a CPU to the monitor.
The display is vibrant with great color and detail. The monitor has easily adjustable display settings for the picture, color, brightness, contrast, and a variety of viewing modes. Modes include Gaming, User, Standard, Eco, Graphics, and Movie. Also, there are three different gaming modes: Action, Racer, and Sports.
As a person that sits in front of a screen for many hours a day, I am more interested in the Blue Light filtering setting. Blue Light emissions from technology like LCD monitors, laptops, and smartphones are believed to negatively affect eye health as well as the ability to sleep.
